Jim started painting as a child. At fifteen he inherited an art box from a Sydney artist he had never met. His interest in painting never waned, and later he studied all aspects of art under many well known accredited tutors through D.D.I.A.E. Toowoomba, now the University of Southern Queensland, and numerous workshops.
His love of painting led him to share his skills and he conducted successful workshop for T.A.F.E. In various locations throughout Western Queensland. Jim, also became a tutor in paining for Queensland Arts Council, specializing in watercolors but taught all aspects of art throughout Southern & Western Queensland.
Jim has been continually involved in promoting art at the grass roots level through committees and private art lessons.
Jim has won numerous art awards and his works have been sold throughout Australia and Overseas. His wish to record the history of pioneer days and the spirit of the Australian bush and its people has influenced his art.
